For many of us, the holiday season is going to be difficult. Whether it be our first without our precious babies, or our 10th year, the missing piece of our heart hurts just a little bit more during this time.

To help ease the sadness of the season, I have decided to organize a holiday card exchange for those who have lost a baby or babies. There is something about getting a little note from someone, be it email or snail mail, the really helps and I am hoping it helps others too.

If you would like to take part in the exchange, here is how it works. You’ll notice at the top of my blog a link to the BLM Holiday Card Exchange. When you click here you will be asked for a password. Only those people who send me their information and give me permission to share that information, will receive the password to get in and view the list of people. That way, potential evil doers out there won’t be able to simply snatch up people’s info. The rules of joining the exchange are this:

1. You agree to send at least one card or email card.
2. You don’t share the list with people who aren’t taking part in the exchange.
3. You send out your card or cards prior to the holiday the person is observing (i.e. Hanukka, Christmas, Winter Solstice, Kwanza).
4. If you cannot participate as planned, you will email me so I can take your name down off of the list.

To join please send the following information to my email at emilyhughes88@yahoo.com :

1. Your full name and mailing address (street, city, etc.).
2. Your email if you would like to receive e-cards.
3. The holidays you observe or if you would prefer non-religious cards.
4. The name of your baby or babies.
5. Any important dates you’d like to share about them (birthday, angelversary).
6. What reminds you most of your baby (things someone could incorporate into a card perhaps).

Please feel free to pass information about the exchange along, the more the merrier! If you have any questions, feel free to comment here so others can read them (in case they share the same question!). Thanks everyone.

Yours,

~EH
