Hello. My name is Emily and I am Jack’s momma. I live with my husband Dustin in the metro-Detroit area. In May of 2010, we lost Jack (our first baby) when my water broke too early and he was born prematurely. Jack was 1lb and 3ounces and 11 inches long. He was and is still the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
This blog is my personal journal that I have been keeping since before I found out I was pregnant with Jack. It turned into a sort of pregnancy blog during my time with him so I could keep my family updated on how we were all doing. I could have never guessed it would become a journal of my grieving, an outlet for me, to put into words the ache I now carry with me in heart.
The reason we lost Jack is related to a rare blood mutation that I carry called MTHFR. We did not realize I had this gene unfortunately until after the fact. It is my hope that through this blog I can reach new people, women in particular, who will encourage others to get genetic testing done in early pregnancy to avoid loosing a baby.
If you have lost a baby, and need someone to talk to, please feel free to email me anytime. I know how good it feels to talk about your baby, and to tell your story. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
